Social Media 101: How to Get People Share Your Content

One of the challenges in social media marketing is being able to get more shareable contents. This is one of the effective ways to reach the right audience, and stretch-out your market. A beautiful content is not enough; there are still a lot of things to work on to get your content be shared. So, how would you be able to get more organic social shares,

Make it Shareable

Create an engaging content that will make your readers want to read it until the very last word of your content. Time is precious; more than 2 to 3 clicks of a button to share a post may be too much work for your audience. Make it easy for them to share it by adding share buttons, and share icons. You may put it on top or bottom whichever you think it will be helpful. You can code it by yourself, or you can use plugins. If it already has over a thousand of shares, you can also show the number of shares it already has on top to make it more engaging to read.

Create a Call to Action

Start by asking your family members, closest friends or colleagues. You might be surprised that your content may get more shares by 40+%. Did you know that Pinterest pins a call to action get 80% more shares; Tweets that ask people to retweet them get 51% more retweets than tweets that were never asked, It is always worth asking. Don’t just let them know that they could share your content, MAKE them share your post. Remind them of a call to action.

Use Photos and Videos

According to research, people prefer images on posts. A post with a photo on Facebook gets 104% more comments, 84% better click-through rate, and 54% more likes. In another study conducted, tweets with pictures get 18% more clicks, 89% more favourites and 150% more retweets. Your audience will likely share something if they find it entertaining, educational or inspirational and this is what we call Value Added Content.

It can be ‘how-to’ posts, educational information, or something that is fun. The more emotionally affected your audience is the higher chance of getting shared. Just don’t forget that the main goal is to build a content to position your company as the de facto resource centre for your industry.

Build Strong Connections With Influencers

This is what we call “Influencer Marketing”. Influencers have a large number of people in their audiences, and asking for help from them may increase the chance of your post being shared online. Connecting and building a strong relationship with influencers is a great addition to your marketing strategy.

Imagine if you were able to get promoted by well-known influencers like Oprah Winfrey or Ellen DeGeneres, how much further your post could possibly go, fame is important, of course, but choose those influencers who are related to your advocacies and campaigns.
