A Quick Look At Popular Email Marketing Platforms

With the rise of email marketing, it has become increasingly important to make the right decision when choosing an email marketing program or software to use. With so many of them available now, it is crucial to learn which email marketing software does what. The best way to do that is to take a look at their benefits and disadvantages. Let’s take a closer look at the most popular email marketing platforms/software available in the market today.

MailChimp

One of the most popular email marketing platforms today is MailChimp. MailChimp was founded in 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia and currently has about 15 million customers. One of the reasons why MailChimp is very popular is it has more than 400 different templates that you can choose from. Aside from that, their drag and drop editor is very user-friendly and very pleasing to the eyes. MailChimp can also easily be integrated into other applications using their API. You can integrate it in Google Analytics to easily track your activity. Among its drawbacks however is, MailChimp has bad customer service reputation. A lot of customers have complained a lot about their technical issue resolution. Another thing to note is that MailChimp doesn’t allow your campaign to be sent to multiple subscriber lists althought you can create as many different lists for different campaigns.

Constant Contact

Constant Contact is a Massachusetts based company that was founded in 1995. Since Constant Contact has been in the business for a considerable amount of time, it has a huge library of HTML email templates that customers can utilize. It also has a WordPress plugin which can be useful for bloggers. One unique feature that Constant Contact offers is that you can change the sender of the email without having to create a new account. The disadvantage of Constant Contact though is that it has a 5000 reply monthly limit and is also not advisable for small-scale marketers since they don’t offer any free version.

Emma

Emma is a Nashville based company that started in 2003. Although it’s a small company compared to the previous companies mentioned, it still offers pretty high end solutions. Its unique feature is it allows you to code your email using HTML. It also has the standard drag and drop editor which is popular among intermediate users. It can also be integrated to Google Analytics which is a real plus. It can be quite pricey though and has a very limited amount of templates you can use.

AWeber

AWeber was founded in 1998 and has since then risen as one of the top email marketing platforms. Like Emma, AWeber allows custom HTML coding for emails which can make your email aesthetically pleasing. It also allows you to easily segment your lists according to different categories. Although it is pretty popular, AWeber has several drawbacks. It doesn’t have a survey feature which can be a deal breaker for some. You also can’t send the same email to different subscriber lists. It also doesn’t allow you to integrate it to Google Analytics. Aside from that, it doesn’t allow you to host images. It’s price a bit on the affordable side though depending on the number of subscribers you have.

As you may have noticed, each email marketing platform has its own unique features that they can bring to the table.
